We are so happy to announce that fall 2014 recruitment registration has now officially opened! The Panhellenic community couldn't be more excited to help you find your Passport to Panhellenic!

When is recruitment?

Formal 2014 fall recruitment is being held August 10th-16th, August 16th being Bid Day!

How do I sign up?

How long do I have to sign up for recruitment?

Registration is open now till Saturday August 9th!

How much does it cost to go through fall formal recruitment?

If you sign up between now and July 15th you will receive the early bird special of $75.

If you sign up from July 16th-August 9th it will be $85.

Panhellenic UCF Attends SEPC

This weekend, twenty-eight Panhellenic women from the University of Central Florida attended the South Eastern Panhellenic Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.  The twenty-eight women represented the eleven chapters on campus at the conference.  We left early Thursday morning by bus in order to arrive on time for the opening ceremony of the conference.

The opening ceremony was led by Ginny Carrol, an Alpha Xi Delta, who created Panhellenic’s national philanthropy, Circle of Sisterhood Foundation.  The Foundation strives to remove the educational barriers for girls and women in order to uplift them from poverty and oppression around the world.  Panhellenic UCF will be hosting Ginny Carrol April 3^rd and will be encouraging Panhellenic women to participate in our new philanthropy event, Capture the Splash.  Be sure to check out our Facebook page for more details!

On the second day of the conference, individuals had the opportunity to attend multiple sessions through out the day focusing on chapter management, character development, communication, diversity, health/wellness, Panhellenic, professional development, recruitment, service/philanthropy, and women’s leadership development.  The women in attendance from UCF attended sessions pertaining to issues that currently face our Greek community as well as their own individual organizations.  We learned how to manage our stress in positive ways, how to use social media and technology to our advantage with in our organizations, as well as ways to ensure that we keep our own sisters accountable.  All of the speakers were motivating and encouraging.

The final sessions for the day, was hosted by Corey Ciocchetti, a Professor of Business Ethics and Legal Studies at Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.   He is one of the University’s most popular and highest rated professors.  We soon found out why.  Corey was a great speaker, focusing on living an authentive life.    He encourages us to chase our dreams and aspirations, which in turn will help us to live our lives to the fullest.

Saturday marked the last and final day of our attendance at SEPC.  We started the day with an affiliation breakfast and t-shirt swap!  We were able to meet with our sisters from all across the South East for a morning of sisterhood.  After breakfast, we all parted separate ways to attend a full day of sessions.  Again, we were able to focus on issues that dealt with out community and organizations.  At the closing ceremony, Dr. Lori Hart spoke with us about how to solve problems with in our chapters be keeping members accountable and creating lasting relationships.  This was the perfect ending to the weekend.

As members of the Panhellenic community, we look forward to sharing with you what we have learned over the next few weeks.

National Badge Day

Wednesday, March 13th the Panhellenic Council celebrated National Badge Day at the University of Central Florida.  Panhellenic women gathered during the weekly PAN Council meeting to discuss the values and ritual that bonds us all as sorority women.  A small program was created and implemented during the meeting to challenge women to continue to wear their badges through out the day and show their various organization's values through their daily actions.

Alpha Epsilon Phi's 8th Anual Bowlanthropy Benefitting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

On Wednesday, February 27th, members of several PAN and IFC organizations participated in Alpha Epsilon Phi's Bowlanthropy competition, benefitting the Elizabeth  Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.  The foundation benefits children who have HIV or AIDS.  The money raised from this event goes directly to research, support groups, and the purchase of medications.  Bowling teams of four individuals took part in unlimited bowling from 10pm to midnight dressed in various costumes of their choice.  Through out the course of the night, the sisters of AEPhi passed our red ribbons, in honor of their philanthropy.  They included multiple tables with information about their philanthropy, which gave members of the 600 members of the Greek community at the event, a greater understanding of the organization.  Participating organizations also decorated bowling pins as part of the competition (pictures below).  The organizations with the most points from the competition won the event!  Alpha Xi Delta and Zeta Beta Tau won first place!

February 11th Alpha Xi Delta held it's first annual Xi Man Field Day, benefitting Autism Speaks, competition at Lake Claire.  The men participating in their Xi Man sweetheart competition competed to win the field day event.  Men in the participating fraternities competed in a three legged race, sand volleyball, and tug of war events.  Since there were 250-300 people in attendance, sisters of Alpha Xi Delta said that the Field Day event gave contestants and their fraternity brothers the opportunity to get to know more members of the Greek community.   Over $8,000 were raised, which will go directly to Autism Speaks, in hopes of making a difference in the lives of children affected by Autism.  In order to show the community how frequently children are affected by Autism, the creators of the competition, Janine and Ashley, had contestants create puzzle pieces depicting current statistics regarding Autism (Pictures are located below).  At the conclusion of their event, the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta crowned Freshman member of Lamba Chi Alpha, Tim Henderson as their Xi Man.

National Body Image Awareness Week

Speaker Leslie Goldman

The Panhellenic Council kicked off National Body Image Awareness Week with speaker Leslie Goldman.  Goldman is a writer, book author, body image speakers and spokesperson for multiple nationally recognized organizations that promote women's health.  She's also the author of best-selling book "The Locker Room Diaries".

Each year, she visits dozens of colleges and universities delivering her talk to hundreds of women.  A Panhellenic woman herself, she can relate to the pressures of Greek life.  Her sense of humor and speech was relatable.  We had 100 women present at the event and were so pleased by the turnout!

On Friday, January 15th, leaders from each chapter within the four Greek councils at UCF gathered for the weekend to discuss current issues that affect our Greek life.  We departed from campus later Friday afternoon.  Individuals from each organization were divided up into small groups led by the office staff of Fraternity and Sorority Life.  The leaders discussed issues that currently affect our Greek community.  It was a great opportunity for members of each council to meet and discuss issues that affect our community and action plans to address these issues.
