This weeks chapter spotlight goes to the lovely ladies of
Gamma Phi Beta
Gamma Phi Beta here at UCF also goes by the nickname "Gamma Phi". Their colors are light brown and dark brown with an accent of pink. Their symbol is the crescent moon. Their flower is a pink carnation and their philanthropy is Building Strong Girls.
Pan asked Gamma Phi Beta a few questions pertaining to their chapter that can help you get to know them a little better!

Pan asked, "What is your chapters philanthropy and what event do you hold each year to
help your philanthropy?"
Their response:

"Our chapter's philanthropic mission is Building Strong Girls. This mission encompasses three main organizations: Campfire, Girl Guides of Canada, and Girls on the Run. We are currently in the process of planning our first annual Crescent Classic. We are very excited! Our chapter mainly works with Girls on the Run. With GOTR, we help elementary school girls train to run a 5k race. We practice twice a week throughout the semester in preparation for a race at the end! Sisters who didn't train with the girls make signs and bring noisemakers to cheer at the finish line. We have also hosted a party for the girls where we watched a princess movie, had pizza, and did crafts! It is so much fun!"
We then asked, "What is your chapters favorite part about recruitment?"
Their response:
"We cannot wait to show the women going through recruitment how much love and support we have for each other, and to share this with all our new sisters on Bid Day!"
Pan asked Gamma Phi Beta, "What is a unique tradition your chapter at UCF has?"
Their response:
"One of our favorite traditions is Senior Week! At the end of the Spring semester, we like to celebrate our graduating sisters. Each day is themed after one of our four core values - love, learning, labor, and loyalty. We volunteer to be Secret Sisters for the seniors and get them goodies and make them crafts. This past spring we brought a mobile spa to our sisters and had a tea party. We love any excuse to celebrate each other!"
Pan asked, "What are three words you would use to describe your chapter?"
Their response:
"Three words that best describe our chapter are resilient, inspiring, and passionate. We are a resilient group of women. We happily tackle anything that comes our way. We inspire each other every day to become the best versions of ourselves and strive to inspire the highest type of womanhood in all that we do. We have a passion for our sorority's values and history and will proudly display that passion so that all we meet know just how much we love being Gamma Phi Betas!"
I asked Gamma Phi, "What has been your favorite sisterhood activity?"
Their response:
"We had an amazing sisterhood retreat at the Magic Kingdom! We were able to spend the whole day there together. Nothing is more beautiful then sharing the magic of sisterhood in the happiest place on Earth. We are looking forward to our next sisterhood retreat!"
And lastly Pan asked, "What makes Gamma Phi Beta's sisterhood so strong?"
Their response:

"Eta Lambda owes the world to our amazing team of advisors! Our advisors help us to pave our way to success in so many ways. Their help has even gained us recognition from our International Headquarters. They show us that Gamma Phi Beta is for a lifetime!"
And now Pan and Gamma Phi Beta would like to spotlight a special sister in this chapter that exemplifies the perfect example of being a well rounded Panhellenic woman. And from Gamma Phi Beta, your chapter and Pan would like to recognize and spotlight

Jacque Geraghty
Jacque currently serves as Gamma Phi Betas Scholarship Chairwoman. She said, "I was extremely blessed to have been elected this position because scholarship is something that is extremely important to me." Outside of Gamma Phi Beta she is very involved in Best Buddies, an organization on campus that pairs college students with individuals who have intellectual/developmental disabilities. She has participated as the secretary and activities coordinator for that organization.

Pan asked, "What is your favorite thing about being Greek?"
"My favorite thing about being Greek is getting to meet new people! Since I joined Gamma Phi last fall, I have gained so many new friendships in not only my sorority but in other sororities and fraternities as well."

We asked Jacque, "Why did you go Greek?"
"I decided to go Greek because I wanted to become a part of something bigger than myself. Also, when I first heard of Gamma Phi's philanthropy, Building Strong Girls, I knew that it was something I wanted to get involved in. Giving back to a community that has given me so much is extremely rewarding."

Jacque's favorite quote is,
"There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind." -C.S. Lewis

Her celebrity crush is,
Christian Bale
(ooo that's a good one!)

And lastly Pan asked Jacque, "If you could give a potential new member going through recruitment any advice, what would it be?"
"The advice I would give a potential new member going through recruitment is to just be herself and go into recruitment with an open mind! Everything happens for a reason, and I promise you will run home to the sisters you're supposed to be with."
(Love this, everything most certainly happens for a reason!)

Thanks Jacque, keep up the great work and thanks for being a great representation of a Panhellenic woman!

Check back next week as we will be spotlighting

This weeks chapter spotlight goes to the lovely ladies of
Delta Zeta
Delta Zeta here at UCF also goes by the nickname "Dee Zee". Their colors are rose and green. Their symbol is the roman lamp. Their flower is a pink killarney rose and their philanthropy is Speech & Hearing, and The Painted Turtle Camp.
Pan asked Delta Zeta a few questions pertaining to their chapter that can help you get to know them a little better!

Pan asked, "What is your chapters philanthropy and what event do you hold each year to
help your philanthropy?"

Their response:
"Delta Zeta's philanthropies include The Painted Turtle Camp, Starkey Hearing Foundation, and Gallaudet University. Last Fall we held our first 'Shooting for Starkey' event; a paintball tournament between fraternities and sororities. Every Spring we host Turtle Tug, which is a tug of war over a pool of green jello. It seems to be a favorite among UCF Greek life!
Our new members also spend time at Build a Bear to make bears for the Starkey Hearing Foundation. We work with Build a Bear to put hearing aids in each of the bears to emulate the children who are receiving them. The children that receive hearing aids find comfort in having a friend with a similar accessory."
We then asked, "What is your chapters favorite part about recruitment?"

Their response:
"Delta Zeta's favorite part of recruitment is spirit week. We use the week before recruitment to get ready for the potential new members. It is the first time the chapter is all together after months apart; it's great being with everyone! During this time new friendships are formed and old relationships are strengthened. It's like a 5 day sisterhood retreat!
Another favorite time of ours is bid day! It is the culmination of all our efforts over a two week period and we have a hard time sleeping the night before bid day because of how excited we are we are welcoming new sisters to our great organization."

Pan asked Delta Zeta, "What is a unique tradition your chapter at UCF has?"

Their response:
"Every year we have a sisterhood retreat and go somewhere near the beach. Sun, fun, and sisters! It's a great way to relax and remember what drew us to Delta Zeta."
Pan asked, "What are three words you would use to describe your chapter?"

Their response:

"Three words that describe the chapter are friendship, family, and forever."
I asked Delta Zeta, "What has been your favorite sisterhood activity?"

Their response:
"Our favorite sisterhood activity is our "secret sister week". Each member of the chapter is assigned to another sister and throughout the week we make crafts and write letters for each other. At the end of the week you find out the anonymous sister who put so much time and effort into making the gifts."
Lastly Pan asked Delta Zeta, "What are some of your chapters proudest moments from this past year?"

Their response:

"Some of our proudest moments from this past year are raising over $15,000 for Knight-thon benefiting Children's Miracle Network (UCF's official philanthropy), receiving the second highest GPA within Panhellenic and third highest GPA within all Greek organizations, donating over 1,200 cans to Knights pantry and local food banks, sending  100 bears to the Starkey Hearing Foundation, and volunteering 400 hours at the Boy and Girls club of Orlando."
And now Pan and Delta Zeta would like to spotlight a special sister in this chapter that exemplifies the perfect example of being a well rounded Panhellenic woman. And from Delta Zeta, your chapter and Pan would like to recognize and spotlight

MOLLI FORBES
Molli is a senior majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Exceptional Education. Molli is part of the 2011 founding new member class of Delta Zeta.

Molli is the current Vice President of Membership and in 2013 she served as the sisterhood chair for Delta Zeta. She plays IM volleyball and flag football for her chapter as well as being a part of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Molli is also a children's leader for the Foothill's program at Summit Church and volunteers for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

(You go Molli!)

Pan asked Molli, "What is your favorite thing about being greek? Why did you go Greek?"
"My favorite thing about being Greek is all of the lifelong friendships you make, with your own sisters and also with other organizations. It's such a close and friendly community!
When I first came to UCF I knew I had to get involved in something. Soon after, I fell in love with the philanthropy aspect of being Greek. There's nothing more fulfilling than being able to be a part of something that is constantly about giving back."

Her favorite quote is:
"Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one come to you without leaving happier."-Mother Teresa
(oooo I love that!)

I asked Molli who her celebrity crush was and she said,
"Jake Gyllenhaal"
(agreed...his eyes, hair, face, everything is just beautiful lol)

And lastly we asked her, "If you could give any advice to a potential new member going through recruitment, what would it be?"

Her response:
"Relax and be yourself! After all that's why us sorority women are there, to get to know YOU!"

Thanks Molli, keep up the great work and thanks for being a great representation of a Panhellenic woman!

Check back next week as we will be spotlighting

This weeks chapter spotlight goes to the lovely ladies of
Delta Delta Delta
Delta Delta Delta here at UCF also goes by the nickname "Tri Delta". Their colors are silver, gold, and blue. Their symbol is the pearl, dolphin, pine tree, and the trident. Their flower is a pansy and their philanthropy is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Pan asked Delta Delta Delta a few questions pertaining to their chapter that can help you get to know them a little better!

Pan asked, "What is your chapters philanthropy and what event do you hold each year to
help your philanthropy?"

Their response:

"Tri Delta’s philanthropy is St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  In the past 3.5 years Tri Delta nationally raised over $15 million. Every semester we hold at least one event to support the children.  In the fall we host Spaghetti Dinner for St Jude, which is an all you can eat Italian dinner open to the community.  In the spring we host our annual DHOP known as, Delta House of Pancakes.  The all you can eat pancake buffet is strongly supported by the Greek community, UCF community and Tri Delta family.  These two events this past year raised over $60,000 for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In addition to our annual events, Tri Delta sisters gather together to send personalized letters to family and friends asking for a donation to St Jude.  This past semester, a St Jude miracle child joined us for ice cream and writing sincerely yours letters."

We then asked, "What is your chapters favorite part about recruitment?"

Their response:
"The goal of recruitment is to build our chapter by bringing home a pledge class filled with women who share similar values and ideals that add to our sisterhood.  The morning of Bid Day our sisters gather around the fireplace (coffee in hand) and wait with excitement and anticipation for the Recruitment Team to read off the bid list.  This moment is unforgettable – sisters jumping up and down, smiling, even screaming because we cannot wait to meet the new incredible women that will help grow our Tri Delta Family."

Pan asked Tri Delta, "What is a unique tradition your chapter at UCF has?"

Their response:
"A unique tradition Beta Lambda has is our Deltas Only.  These are events exclusive to sisters where we spend time together and cherish the bond we share.  Events can be small like watching a movie on the BRC (big red couch) where everyone brings a snack to share, or something bigger like going skydiving or a road trip to Georgia.  When the house closes for summer and sisters go back home, we learn to appreciate all of the small activities we do together like going to the gym, walking to class or even laying by the pool.  Deltas only don’t just end after our collegiate years.  Wherever life takes us, our trips to one another around the globe never end."

Pan asked, "What are three words you would use to describe your chapter?"
Their response:
"As Tri Delta's we choose to do things in three's: Three words to describe our sisters are... Humble, Timeless, Cherished"

I asked Tri Delta, "What has been your favorite sisterhood activity?"
Their response:

"Shortly after bid day, our chapter participates in Alpha week, which is filled with activities to help connect the new members with the chapter.  Sisters have the opportunity to bond with new members.  In the past, Alpha week has included making chocolate at Farris and Fosters, bowling, getting our nails done and painting pottery.  The week is meant for new members to find their potential big sister who will sponsor them throughout their new member period.  Alpha week is filled with unforgettable memories, effortless fun, and endless excitement!"

Lastly Pan asked Tri Delta, "You mentioned in previous questions about your "Tri Delta" family. Who else besides your sisters does this include?"

       Their response:
"We are fortunate enough to have a warm-hearted housemother, Mama Tay who has won best house mom nine years in a row.  She is very near and dear to our hearts and welcomes us with her smile every lunch and dinner. We also have a four star chef, Chef Reed who makes us lunch and dinner five days a week, soup when we’re sick and hot chocolate when it’s cold.  He caters to us like we are his own and will go above and beyond with the help of our Mansion Men.  Our Mansion Men are as close as it gets to being a male in Tri Delta.  They help in the kitchen and prepare our food on a daily basis.  We all couldn’t be more thankful for our hard working and loving housekeeper Elizabeth.  With such a beautiful house she keeps it in tip-top shape, as well holds us to a high standard of being orderly ourselves.  Our handy man Duane helps us with anything that requires some manpower.  Whether it is hanging a television in your room or using power tools for some crafting projects Duane is the man.  When you become a member of Delta Delta Delta at UCF you get so much more then a family full of sisters, you have a real mom who takes special interest in every member, an amazing chef, mansion men to keep you company, a house keeper who is so much more than that and a handy man, what more could you ask for… it’s a home away from home."

And now Pan and Delta Delta Delta would like to spotlight a special sister in this chapter that exemplifies the perfect example of being a well rounded Panhellenic woman. And from Tri Delta, your chapter and Pan would like to recognize and spotlight

JENNA SHINN

Jenna is a junior majoring in Event Management through the Rosen School of Hospitality of UCF. Jenna is part of the 2012 pledge class of Delta Delta Delta.

Jenna is involved on campus and off campus in the Orlando community throughout the school year. She serves as Vice President of Continuing Education for her chapter and in the past has held the positions of House Manager and Panhellenic Delegate. Outside of Tri Delta, Jenna is a stylist at Stalhi Boutique and is interning/volunteering with several wedding companies in the Orlando area to gain some experience for when she graduates! She also likes to spend her free time volunteering with her church and other organizations in the area. Jenna included that she was also part of the Southeastern Leadershape conference held at UCF this year. She said, “It was one of the most inspiring weeks of my life to be surrounded with other greek leaders across the U.S. learning how to lead with out core values. I cannot wait to start this fall by sharing everything I learned with my chapter so we can make an even bigger impact on our community!”
Pan asked Jenna, "What is your favorite thing about being greek? Why did you go greek?"
“Being Greek makes you feel like you are part of something much closer when you attend a university that has 60,000 people. You feel like you are part of something that really does make an impact on the community together as one unit. I also love surrounding myself with all of these other leaders where we can build each other up and motivate each other.
I decided to go Greek because I wanted to find a close knit family as I moved away from home who had my same values and interests. It is so important to me to have people that you care about and who care about you in life, and now I have 150 sisters so close to my heart who I can count on!”
Her favorite quote is:

“Fate loves the fearless.”- KJ Macklamara.
Jenna said, “This is so near and dear to my heart because it is so important to take chances in life and have some adventure while having a certain peace that everything happens for a reason.”
I asked Jenna who her celebrity crush was and she said,
Ryan Reynolds and Jennifer Aniston. “Ryan is a big handsome hunk who can do no wrong and Jennifer Aniston is a ball of positivity who is so beautiful on the inside and out!”
("Yesss!! They both are too perfect for words"-Barbs)
And lastly we asked her, "If you could give any advice to a potential new member going through recruitment, what would it be?"

Her response:
"Stay true to yourself! Be you and be confident in who you are and the right group of girls will notice how important that is! You are who you are for a reason and you will be able to bring so much to a chapter with that mindset! Also, everything happens for a reason, so stay positive throughout the week and you will find your new home!”

Thanks Jenna, keep up the great work and thanks for being a great representation of a Panhellenic woman!

Check back next week as we will be spotlighting

This weeks chapter spotlight goes to the lovely ladies of
Alpha Xi Delta
Alpha Xi Delta here at UCF also goes by the nickname "Alpha Xi". Their colors are double blue and gold. Their symbols are the quill and BetXi Bear. Their flower is the pink killarney rose and their philanthropy is Autism Speaks.

Pan asked Alpha Xi Delta a few questions pertaining to their chapter that can help you get to know them a little better!

Pan asked, "What is your chapters philanthropy and what event do you hold each year to
help your philanthropy?"
Their response:
"Our philanthropy is Autism Speaks. We hold several events throughout the year to help support and raise money for our philanthropy. During the fall semester, we have a barbecue at our sorority house. Anyone is invited including, but not limited to, all four Greek councils, family, alumnae and the UCF community. Another event that we have during the fall semester is our “Dodgebrawl” event, which is a dodgeball tournament held at the Lake Claire fields. During the spring semester, we have our sweetheart pageant and sweetheart field day in order to select our new “Xi Man”. All of the proceeds that we raise from these events are all donated to the Autism Speaks organization.
Outside the events that we host throughout the year, our sorority attends the Autism Speaks walk every November. We also table outside the Student Union several times a month to help spread knowledge about Autism. Also, several of our sisters have internships with Autism Speaks in the Orlando area."

We then asked, "What is your chapters favorite part about recruitment?"

Their response:
"My favorite part about recruitment is that it is a big reunion for our sorority. After barely seeing any of my sisters during the 3 month summer, it is the greatest feeling to finally be back home with everyone. During the whole week of recruitment, we are all so excited to meet new girls and help all of them find the home that they are looking for. At night, all the sisters will get together in the TV room to watch movies and hang out; we even have a couple dance parties!"
Pan asked Alpha Xi Delta, "What is a unique tradition your chapter at UCF has?"

Their response:
"During the month of April we participate in Autism Awareness Month. During this month, we have activities at our house and speakers during chapter to help spread awareness about Autism. We illuminate our house with blue lights and even put up blue Christmas lights around the house to denote our support to the cause. We also have Autism Speaks shirts that we wear throughout the month, to show how much we care about our philanthropy. "

Pan asked, "What are three words you would use to describe your chapter?"

Their response:
   Unique, Supportive, Outgoing

I asked Alpha Xi, "What has been your favorite sisterhood activity?"

Their response:
"Our favorite sisterhood activity is without a doubt our Sisterhood Retreat. We all travel to a hotel on the east coast and spend the night there. Throughout the day, we are all together in a big room at the hotel and have fun activities where everyone participates. We even get free time to go to the beach to get our tan on. I love retreat because of the bonding experience everyone receives and it also helps us to get to know our new members. We seriously love it!!"

Lastly Pan asked Alpha Xi, "Does the expression, “a home-away-from-home”, apply to your sorority?"

       The Presidents response:
"When going through recruitment, everyone has expectations of what they are looking for in a sorority. My expectation was to find a sorority that I could call my home. I wanted to obtain the feeling of walking through the front door, knowing I belong there. This feeling epitomizes the feeling I got when I walked into Alpha Xi Delta. As the semesters passed, I realized that it is not just the sorority house’s tangible four walls that surround all of us but it’s the amazing intangible bonds that I have made over the years. Whether the situation is thick or thin, my sisters have been there for me and I will forever be able to call them my friends. So yes, I believe everyone will find their “home-away-from-home”, which is what is so awesome about recruitment."

And now Pan and Alpha Xi Delta would like to spotlight a special sister in this chapter that exemplifies the perfect example of being a well rounded Panhellenic woman. And from Alpha Xi Delta, your chapter and Pan would like to recognize and spotlight

STEFANIE SCALISH
Stefanie is a senior majoring in Interpersonal/Organizational Communications. She is in the Fall 2011 new member class and is a sister in Alpha Xi Delta sorority.

Stefanie is currently serving as the Programs Vice President for Alpha Xi Delta. She has served as the Academic Achievement Chair, Sunshine Sister, and Knight-Thon Co-Chair for her chapter. After serving as the Recruitment Director for Knight-Thon 2013-2014, she is entering her second year on the Knight-Thon Executive Board as the Dancer Relations Manager. She has also been an Intern and Supervisor at Feeding Children Everywhere.

Pan asked Stefanie, "What is your favorite thing about being greek?"
"My favorite thing about going Greek is that there are an infinite amount of opportunities to grow into the best version of yourself! I found these opportunities in Greek life through networking, academics, internships, philanthropies, and internal and external leadership positions. I know I wouldn't of been able to realize my full potential in these opportunities without the love, support, and confidence my Alpha Xi Delta sisters provide me!"

Her favorite quote is:
"Do one thing everyday that makes you happy!"
(love this!)

I asked Stefanie who her celebrity crush was and she said,
"Gavin DeGraw! If you've seen him sing in person you'd understand!"
(Haven't seen him in person but I understand!)

And lastly we asked her, "If you could give any advice to a potential new member going through recruitment, what would it be?"

Her response:
"When I was going through recruitment I felt like an overwhelmed girl on The Bachelorette, narrowing down so many choices and meeting what felt like a million nice girls. But instead of a knight in shining armor you find loving sisters at the end of the journey. When I told my Rho Gamma I felt this way after a very long and confusing day of recruitment, she told me to "Imagine if the biggest thing that's ever happened in your life actually happened after all of recruitment. If you could, would you want to call and tell any one of those girls you've met?" and I instantly imagined myself calling a girl I spoke with only once. And of course, she is still the girl I call whenever anything big or small happens in my life. Have fun with it, its a week-long process of falling in love and finding where you are comfortable enough to call someone at 2 AM for comfort or excitement; even if it’s a day or two after you've first met!"
Thanks Stefanie, keep up the great work and thanks for being a great representation of a Panhellenic woman!

Check back next week as we will be spotlighting

This weeks chapter spotlight goes to the lovely ladies of
Alpha Epsilon Phi
Alpha Epsilon Phi here at UCF also goes by the nickname "AEPhi". Their colors are green and white. Their symbols are the giraffe and heart. Their flower is the lily of the valley and their philanthropy is the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation, and Sharsheret Breast Cancer Network.

Pan asked Alpha Epsilon Phi a few questions pertaining to their chapter that can help you get to know them a little better!

Pan asked, "What is your chapters philanthropy and what event do you hold each year to
help your philanthropy?"
Their response:
"Alpha Epsilon Phi has two incredible organizations that we support. In the fall we host an event that supports Sharsheret, which means “chain” in Hebrew. This organization links women with breast cancer together so that they are not going through their journey alone. In the spring we host Bowlanthropy, a huge bowling competition with 100% Greek participation, which supports the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation. Both of our philanthropies were founded by AEPhi sisters and is another reason why we feel so connected to them. Outside of these events we host a Friday night dinner with breast cancer survivors where they share their stories and how Sharsheret helped them through the process."

Pan asked Alpha Epsilon Phi, "What is your chapters favorite part about recruitment?"

Their response:
"After a long summer apart we come back together for “Spirit Week” which is the week before recruitment. This is a week where we strengthen our bonds of sisterhood and the meaning of being a sister of AEPhi. Although there is a lot of work that goes into recruitment we make sure to have some fun in between. In past years we went to the beach, had a hip hop aerobics instructor come to us, as well as an ICEE truck. We love having this week to reunite after summer with our sisters to prepare and welcome new additions to our sisterhood!"

Pan asked Alpha Epsilon Phi, "What is a unique tradition your chapter at UCF has?"

Their response:
"A unique tradition that our chapter LOVES is our Sister of the Week. At our weekly chapter meetings we spotlight a sister that has gone above and beyond for our chapter and in the Orlando community. We find it very important to recognize the amazing accomplishments of our sisters. The Sunshine Chair prepares a poem to read in chapter and their picture is posted on our social media to let the world know how incredible that sister is!"

Pan asked, "What are three words you would choose to describe your chapter?"

AEPhi's response:
"PHInomenal, Family, Unconditional"

Pan asked AEPhi, "What has been your favorite sisterhood activity?"
Their response:
"Our sisterhood events range from theme parks to musicals to a low key movie night, it is so hard just to pick one! One of our favorites this semester was when we went to Disney's Blizzard Beach. It was probably one of the most relaxing experiences just being able to sit on an inntertube with a bunch of sisters and float around the park all day. It felt like we were all on a mini vacation together."

Pan asked, "What is your chapter involved in outside your sorority?"

Their response:
"In AEPhi we pride ourselves with our involvement in all aspects of the UCF and Orlando community. We believe that leadership is a core aspect of our sorority and we thrive because of it. Our President is the newly elected Student Government Association Vice-President, a sister is Trick or Treat on Greek Street Student Director, another sister serves as the Knight-Thon Student Director and we have sisters involved with many other organizations. These organizations include: Order of Omega, Rho Lambda, SGA, Knight-Thon, Homecoming, Late-Knights, Greek Week, and many many more."

And now Pan and Alpha Epsilon Phi would like to spotlight a special sister in this chapter that exemplifies the perfect example of being a well rounded Panhellenic woman. And from Alpha Epsilon Phi, your chapter and Pan would like to recognize and spotlight

DREW STROCHAK

Drew is a senior majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She is in Xi class and is a Panhellenic woman in Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority.

She is very involved in AEPhi being she has been new member assistant for two semesters, social chair, sunshine chair, and sisterhood retreat director. Outside of her chapter she is also very involved! She is a part of Order of Omega, the national student speech language hearing association, and the Student Director for Knight Thon! (You go girl!)

We asked Drew "What is your favorite part about being Greek?" and she said,

"My favorite part about being Greek is the enriching experience that everyone can gain through attending and supporting philanthropies. It's amazing to see what the Greek community can do when we all come together to support a cause bigger than ourselves."

(LOVE THAT!)

We asked Drew, "Why did you go Greek?"

She said, "Coming to a school with more than 60,000 people was intimidating at first. I knew that I needed to find my niche that would give me that sense of belonging to make the transition to such a big school easier. Joining Alpha Epsilon Phi gave me the comfort that I had been searching for and I'm so thankful to have a sisterhood of more than 150 sisters supporting me and making UCF truly feel like a home away from home."

Her favorite quote is, "Let the little things go and just be happy, life's too short to be anything but."

Her celeb crush is Ryan Gosling (yessssss!)

And to end this off, I asked Drew if she could give any advice to someone going through recruitment, what advice would she give?

She said, "Just be yourself and have fun with it! You're only a potential new member once so take the opportunity to really listen and learn about what each organization has to offer! Although days may seem long and exhausting during the week, it's all worth it when you get to run home on Bid Day!"

Thanks Drew, keep up the great work and thanks for being a great representation of a Panhellenic woman!

Check back next week as we will be spotlighting

The first chapter spotlight goes to the lovely ladies of
Alpha Delta Pi

A little extra bit of information on Alpha Delta Pi here at UCF is the chapter also goes by the nickname "ADPi". Their colors are azure blue and white. Their symbols are the lion and diamond. Their flower is the woodland violet and their philanthropy is The Ronald McDonald House.

You may ask yourself, "What is a philanthropy?" A philanthropy is an organization that the chapter desires to promote it's welfare of others, either in generous donation of money to
good causes or through community service/involvement.

Pan asked Alpha Delta Pi a few questions pertaining to their chapter that can help you get to know their chapter a little better!

Pan asked Alpha Delta Pi, "What is your chapters philanthropy and what event do you hold each year to help your philanthropy?"

Alpha Delta Pi's response:
"Alpha Delta Pi’s philanthropy is Ronald McDonald House. RMH offers families a free place to stay while their children are in the hospital receiving treatment for various illnesses and diseases. It is designed to be a home away from home for these families. Each year we hold Pizza at the Pi and Cheers for Charity to raise money for RHM. This year we raised over $8,000. Sisters also visit RMH once or twice a week to cook lunch and dinner for the families staying at RMH in downtown Orlando. It’s an amazing experience to be able to interact with the families we work so hard to raise money for and to get to hear their stories"

Pan asked Alpha Delta Pi, "What is your chapters favorite part about recruitment?"

Alpha Delta Pi's response:

"Here at Alpha Delta Pi, we love Recruitment. The week prior to Recruitment is called Spirit Week and we do all sorts of fun sisterhood activities to get excited for the upcoming week. It’s great to spend this whole week bonding and catching up with sisters after being apart all summer. We take this time to reflect on why we joined ADPi and what it means to us. Our favorite part about Recruitment is being able to share what ADPi truly means to us with every Potential New Member that walks through our door."

Pan asked Alpha Delta Pi, "What is a unique tradition your chapter at UCF has?"

Alpha Delta Pi's response:

"A unique tradition that our chapter at UCF has is that before every social, grab-a-date, and formal we have a sisterhood social. This is a fun time for sisters to hang out with everyone and catch up in the midst of the craziness of school, work, and other extracurricular activities. In the past, we have sisterhood socials to an Orlando Magic Game where we all dressed like our favorite celebrity, to the movies to see a chick flick the week of Valentine’s Day, and to see Blue Man Group. Sometimes sisterhood activities are done at the house and everyone comes in pajamas and we paint nails, write letters to other ADPi chapters, or watch a movie in our front lawn."

Pan asked Alpha Delta Pi, "What are three words you would choose to describe your chapter?"

Alpha Delta Pi's response:

"Fun-loving, vibrant, personable"

Pan asked Alpha Delta Pi, "What has been your favorite sisterhood activity?"

Alpha Delta Pi's response:

"Our chapter’s favorite sisterhood activity happens during Chapter Retreat each fall. We reveal to our New Members who their Diamond Sister is (Big /Little) and plan a fun surprise for the following day designed for the Diamond Sisters to spend the day celebrating and bonding. Last year we spent the day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!"

Pan asked Alpha Delta Pi, "What is something everyone in your chapter looks forward to every day?"

Alpha Delta Pi's response:

"Meal plan!!! We joke that everyone organizes their day around when lunch and dinner are served at the house, not so much for the food itself (although it is delicious!), but because mealtime is a time of the day where you get to see everyone, catch up, and hang out. It’s fun to be able to sit with someone different at every meal and hear about their day, their classes, what they did over the weekend, and to just be able reconnect during the craziness of the week. No matter how busy you are time never seems to be an issue. I know I have looked up at the clock thinking 30 minutes have gone by only to realize I have been hanging out for 2 hours just talking with different sisters that have been coming and going between class, work, studying, etc."

And now Pan and Alpha Delta Pi would like to spotlight a special sister in this chapter that exemplifies the perfect example of being a well rounded Panhellenic woman. And from Alpha Delta Pi, your chapter and Pan would like to recognize and spotlight
DANIELLE WASSERMAN

Danielle Wasserman is a senior majoring in Advertising/Public Relations and minoring in Psychology. She is in pledge class 11 and is a Panhellenic woman in Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Along with being a full time knight, Danielle loves being involved on and off campus during the school year!  She is the Public Relations chair for Alpha Delta Pi as well as Co-President of Her Campus UCF- an online magazine for collegiate woman.  Off campus she is employed with NBA's Orlando Magic as a passgate assistant where she checks in halftime shows and special guests of home games.  This summer she will be in New York City, perusing her dream internship with Ralph Lauren in the Public Relations department. (<--I'm jealous!)

Her favorite thing about being Greek is the endless networking opportunities.  She says, "The Greek community is filled with so many of the campus' leaders.  I'm involved with every club, internship, and job thanks to different Greeks I have networked with.  Being surrounded by so many successful leaders inspires you to do the same."

We asked Danielle, "Why did you go Greek?"
Danielle said, "I went Greek because I hoped for a support system at UCF as I left my family.  I received so much more than I could have hoped for in Alpha Delta Pi."

Her favorite quote is, "With a smile on your face and love in your heart, you'll always find peace."- Mrs. McMillan (her high school art teacher)

When asked who her celeb crush was she said, "James Franco…HAVE YOU SEEN HIM!?"
Agreed Danielle...I 100% agree!

And last, we asked Danielle if she could give any advice to a potential new member going through recruitment, what advice would you give to her?
She said, "If I had to give any advice to a potential new member going through recruitment, it would be: It's natural to be nervous, but don't let it get to you.  Remember you're recruiting just as much as the sorority gals are.  You want to find that group of girls you feel comfortable around and share your same morals, so go ahead ask lots of questions!"
Thanks Danielle, keep up the great work and thanks for being a great representation of a Panhellenic woman!

Check back next week as we will be spotlighting
ALPHA EPSILON PHI!

xoxo, Barbie
