This weeks chapter spotlight goes to the lovely ladies of
Zeta Tau Alpha
Zeta Tau Alpha here at UCF also goes by the nickname "Zeta". Their colors are turquoise blue and steel grey. Their symbols are the five point crown and strawberry. Zeta's flower is a white violet and their philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness.
Pan asked Zeta Tau Alpha a few questions pertaining to their chapter that can help you get to know them a little better!

We asked, "What is your chapter’s philanthropy? What events are held each year for your philanthropy? Outside of those events what do you do pertaining to your philanthropy?"
Their response:
“Zeta Tau Alpha’s philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. We are extremely passionate about our philanthropy because 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and everyone knows someone who has been affected by this terrible cancer. We raise thousands of dollars for this amazing cause through our various philanthropy events. Every year we put on the most exciting Greek philanthropy event of the fall: ZTA Lip Sync. Our dance competition is highly anticipated and every UCF sorority as well as fraternity comes out to participate and show support. We also volunteer for and run in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Our sorority sisters love meeting the breast cancer survivors and hearing their inspirational stories.”
We asked, "What is your chapter’s favorite part about recruitment?"
Their response
“ZTA’s favorite part of recruitment is bid day! The excitement in the house is contagious and all of our sisters cannot wait for the new members to run down Greek Park and into our arms. We get very emotional knowing that these girls are going to be our future littles and grandlittles and share our sisterhood.  As soon as they enter through our front doors, we have a dance party and then head to our surprise bid day destination!”
We asked Zeta, "What is a unique tradition your chapter at UCF has?"
Their response:
“A unique tradition that our chapter has is known as the “Zlammies.” At the end of spring, we have a huge dinner party at the ZTA house. Everyone dresses up, takes pictures, watches funny videos from the year, and receives Senior Wills from our graduating members. It’s an amazing night to come together as a sorority, reflect on the year, and have fun!”
We then asked, "What are three words you would use to describe your chapter?"
Their response:
“Three words to describe our chapter are: charismatic, passionate, and confident”
Pan also asked Zeta Tau Alpha, "What has been your favorite sisterhood activity?"
Their response:
“Our favorite sisterhood activity is definitely Big/Little Reveal.  Our new members cannot wait to get their big sisters who will shower them with gifts, offer them advice, and look out for their best interests. The special bond that big sisters and little sisters share in our chapter proves how special it is to be a member of Zeta Tau Alpha.”
And lastly we asked, “What does a normal day at Zeta Tau Alpha look like?”
Their response:
“The early birds with morning internships, classes or jobs will wake up and grab some breakfast and coffee made by our beloved housemother “Momma C.” When lunchtime rolls around, our sisters will come by the house to eat and do homework, tan outside on our lawn, or meet up and go to the gym. Dinnertime at ZTA is the most exciting meal because we all sit together and share laughs the whole time. When it’s nice out, we even eat meal plan on our patio! We have a big comfy couch in the TV room and we always have movie nights or watch our favorite shows to end the day.”
And now Pan and Zeta Tau Alpha would like to spotlight a special sister in this chapter that exemplifies the perfect example of being a well rounded Panhellenic woman. And from Zeta, your chapter and Pan would like to recognize and spotlight
Kayla Hoyer
Kayla is a senior at The University of Central Florida majoring in International and Global Studies. She is a part of the new member class of 2011 and was the Program Council Secretary and then the Executive Council Secretary. She is a member of the Burnett Honors College, a part of the International Relations Club, and works at Rosen Shingle Creek. She spent 2 months this summer in Cape Town South Africa interning for a women's rights NGO called Ilitha Labantu which helps victims of domestic abuse. This fall she is interning at the World Trade Center Orlando.

We asked her, "What is your favorite thing about being Greek?"
“My favorite thing about being Greek is all the friends I have made and my great Greek family! I also love living in the Zeta house. It's so much fun and there is always someone to hang out with!”

We then asked Kayla, "Why did you go Greek?"
“I went Greek because I came to UCF from Ohio and didn't know anybody in Florida. I figured the best way to make friends and get the most out of college was to join a sorority. Right when I walked in ZTA on the first day, I knew I was home.”

Her favorite quote is, 
"We are drowning in information, but starved for knowledge."
Pan then asked, “Who is your celebrity crush?”
“I don't really have a celeb crush, David Tennant?”

And lastly Pan asked, "What advice would you give to a potential new member going through recruitment?"
“I would tell PNM's going through recruitment that going Greek is one of the best decisions you can make when attending a university. You truly do get out of the experience what you put in and I wouldn't change my time in ZTA for the world!”

This weeks chapter spotlight goes to the lovely ladies of 
Pi Beta Phi
Pi Beta Phi here at UCF also goes by the nickname "Pi Phi". Their colors are wine and silver blue. Their symbols are the arrow and angel. Pi Phi's flower is a wine carnation and their philanthropies are First Book and Pi Beta Phi Foundation. 
Pan asked Pi Beta Phi a few questions pertaining to their chapter that can help you get to know them a little better!
We asked, "What is your chapter’s philanthropy? What events are held each year for your philanthropy? Outside of those events what do you do pertaining to your philanthropy?"
Their response:
"Pi Beta Phi’s philanthropy is Read > Lead > Achieve. This philanthropic effort focuses on providing a lifelong love of reading to children everywhere. We believe that inspiring others to read supports their desire to learn and helps to create future leaders of our society. Knowing that one in four children are illiterate pushes us to work as hard as we can to raise money and go out into our community to make a change towards a more literate society.
Our fall philanthropy each year is either a themed dinner at our house or a flag football competition called Arrowbowl. In the spring semester, we hold a Color Run 5k. This takes place with a route all around the UCF campus and ends at our house with a big color party, which includes a DJ, food, entertainment, games, and awards. We encourage not only our UCF community but also members of our local community to come join us for an awesome day to raise money for our philanthropy. On top of both of those fun events, we take the time throughout each semester to go out into our community and work with local children through our Champion’s Are Readers program."
We asked, "What is your chapter’s favorite part about recruitment?"
Their response"
"Of course, spending two weeks together after a long summer apart is amazing in itself but we always gain so much more out of those two weeks than just catching up and getting to see each other again. Being all together as a chapter for so long gives us the opportunity to create new bonds and get to know different sisters on a deeper level. Some of the best friends I’ve made over the years have come from the relationships I’ve formed during recruitment. We’re always so sad to lose our seniors in the spring but recruitment is the perfect time to bring us back together and to get us excited to bring in our new members on bid day!"
We asked Pi Phi, "What is a unique tradition your chapter at UCF has?"
Their response:
"A unique tradition our chapter has had since we were founded at UCF is Pi Phi's Guardian Angels. Each sister as a new member receives a guardian angel which is an older member of the chapter that keeps their identity a secret for our years as undergrads. Throughout our four years, we communicate with our GA's through journals, emails or facebooks and develop a close knit relationship with them. Also, every new member will receive a silver ring from their guardian angel symbolizing that they're always going to be there and that no one is ever alone in Pi Phi. When the time is right, Guardian Angels reveal themselves to their member. This is usually a very exciting and emotional experience that one will never forget. Guardian angels are exactly that, they're there to watch over and guide us through our experience in Pi Phi, they are there for advice and to help us through our troubles, and they are there forever. We take great pride in this experience, which is unlike anything else and will always continue it here at UCF."
We then asked, "What are three words you would use to describe your chapter?"
Their response:
"Sincere, Devoted, Unique"
Pan also asked Pi Beta Phi, "What has been your favorite sisterhood activity?"
Their response:
"One of our favorite sisterhood activities was last year when we went as a chapter to Universal Studios for dinner at City Walk and then to the Blue Man Group show afterward. This was such an amazing night filled with great food, entertainment and a lot of laughs. We got to eat dinner and walk all over city walk which lead to some great photo ops. Then we took over Blue Man Group and even had a bunch of our sisters up on stage. Seeing them up there and getting the entire crowd into the show was hilarious and a memory we will always remember."
And last we asked "What’s your favorite part about being in Pi Phi?"
Their response:
"The best part about being a Pi Phi is knowing that we are a part of such an incredible diverse group of women with such motivation and determination to be successful. Our paths, views and styles are all very different but we come together in order to help each other and guide each other to being the best we can be. We have such a strong bond and are truly like a giant family. No matter what is going on in your life there will be several sisters lined up there for you. Whether that be advice, a shoulder to cry on or someone to share exciting news with, no one is ever left alone in Pi Phi."
And now Pan and Pi Beta Phi would like to spotlight a special sister in this chapter that exemplifies the perfect example of being a well rounded Panhellenic woman. And from Pi Phi, your chapter and Pan would like to recognize and spotlight
KAITLYN STEININGER
Kaitlyn Steininger is a senior, double majoring in Health Science and Psychology. She is in the member class of 11 and has served on Pi Phi’s executive board for the past two years. She first served as the Vice President of Fraternity Development and now as the Vice President of Administration. Outside of Pi Phi, she is a LEAD scholars alumni and currently serves on the Knight-Thon Executive Board as the Special Projects Director. She said, "Because of my involvement in Pi Phi, I was able to see myself as a leader, which helped me to get involved in the UCF community. I couldn’t be happier to have been given these opportunities and experiences, which will remain with me forever."

We asked her, "What is your favorite thing about being Greek?"
"My favorite thing about being Greek is immersing myself in something that makes a difference in other people’s lives. I always know that I can invest my interests and ideas in any aspect of the chapter I want and the experiences and support I always get in return surprises me every single time. My chapter and the Greek community as a whole make our huge campus seem so much smaller and less intimidating. I never imagined I would feel so loved and at home at such a big school, like UCF."

We then asked Kaitlyn, "Why did you go Greek?" 
"I went Greek because I wanted to be as well rounded as possible. I stayed in Greek life because not only has my chapter opened so many doors for me, but I also have a support system like I’ve never had before and an amazing family within UCF. Throughout my experience in Pi Phi and Greek life, I was able to meet so many others with similar passions and goals. These relationships I’ve created over the past four years have blossomed into the most true and genuine friendships I’ve ever had."

Her favorite quote is,

Her celebrity crush is

And lastly Pan asked, "What advice would you give to a potential new member going through recruitment?"
"For anyone going through recruitment, don’t overthink the process! Toward the end of the week you will feel at ease in the chapter that’s meant for you. Keep an open mind and choose for YOURSELF, not for anyone else. These girls will be your family for the rest of your time at UCF, so try to enjoy this exciting time!"

This weeks chapter spotlight goes to the lovely ladies of 
Kappa Kappa Gamma
Kappa Kappa Gamma here at UCF also goes by the nickname "Kappa". Their colors are light blue and  dark blue. Their symbol is an owl, key, and a fleur de lis. Kappa's flower is a iris and their philanthropy is Reading is Fundamental, Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Pan asked Kappa Kappa Gamma a few questions pertaining to their chapter that can help you get to know them a little better!

Pan asked, "What is your chapters philanthropy and what event do you hold each year to 
help your philanthropy?"
Their response:
"Our philanthropies include Reading is Fundamental (RIF), Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). Kappa sisters work to raise funds as well as collect books to donate to local schools in order to promote literacy in children who may not have the opportunity to read or own a book otherwise. Just last year we held our first annual Kappa Karnival, benefiting RIF and the KKG Foundation, where we had booths, games, music, funnel cakes and sno-cones, and where we were able to  collect over 500 books to donate to RIF. During the Spring semester, Kappa at UCF in partnership with CFF hosts a 5K walk around the campus where sisters get to meet the families and Cystic Fibrosis patients that benefit from our fundraising efforts. 



In addition to our events, Kappa sisters go on multiple school and hospital visits throughout the year and read to children."


We then asked, "What is your chapters favorite part about recruitment?"
Their response:
"Our favorite part of recruitment is Spirit Week, the week before recruitment. After not seeing each other over the months of summer, it's always heart-warming and exciting to see everyone again and spend every minute with each other. Our chapter takes this time, to not only get ready for the upcoming week but to build even stronger bonds with each other and get back to the true meaning of Kappa, to soon welcome our new members."
Pan asked Kappa, "What is a unique tradition your chapter at UCF has?"
Their response:
"Here at Eta Eta, after every semester ends we have Senior Wills. It's a time when the entire chapter comes together to bid them farewell. We go to a country club and have brunch while seniors go over their favorite moments, memories, and pictures from the past 4 years, passes down advice to everyone and wills down treasured items."
 Pan asked, "What are three words you would use to describe your chapter?"
      Their response:
"Authentic, congenial, determined."

I asked Kappa Kappa Gamma, "What has been your favorite sisterhood activity?"
Their response: 
"Our chapter's favorite sisterhood activity is definitely Sisterhood Retreat, because it's always something fun that brings about a lot of laughs and memories. We spend the day getting to know each other better while bonding over fun activities. Just this past Spring, we went to Magic Kingdom at Disney. We were able to spend all day together in the park an we all had a blast! It was a very rainy day, but we all packed our rain jackets and made the most of it anyway!"

And lastly Pan asked, "How has being a part of Kappa helped through your college years?"

     Their response:

"Kappa Kappa Gammas has brought to each one of us an unbelievable opportunity to be part of an organization that opens the doors for self-growth, leadership, mutual support and life-long bonds of friendship. Kappa has given us a home away from home here at UCF. It has allowed us to grow as individuals and leaders and has given us the sisters that many of us never had. Being part of this chapter has helped sisters find careers after college, and it has provided us with a sisterhood bond like no other, from study buddies, to best friends to bridesmaids."
And now Pan and Kappa Kappa Gamma would like to spotlight a special sister in this chapter that exemplifies the perfect example of being a well rounded Panhellenic woman. And from Kappa, your chapter and Pan would like to recognize and spotlight
BRENNA COVEL
Brenna is a junior majoring in Communications and a part of Kappa Kappa Gammas Fall 2012 New Member Class. She is Education Chairman, current Marshal, involved with Knightthon, and was honored to attend the 2014 Kappa Kappa Gamma General Convention in Houston, Texas 

Pan asked, "What is your favorite thing about being Greek?"
"My favorite thing about being Greek is knowing that I am apart of a group of people who support me. Not only do we support our sisters we support other Panhellenic Women as well. Kappa Kappa Gamma has allowed me to be who I am and grow as a leader." 

We also asked, "Why did you go Greek?"
"I was extremely involved in High School and knew that when I came to college I needed to be just as involved. I knew going Greek would be my answer, and I was correct. Although I am the first member of my family to go Greek they were extremely supportive of my decision to go through recruitment!"  

Brenna's favorite quote is, 
"Being happy isn't having everything in your life be perfect. Maybe it's about stringing together all the little things.” -Ann Brashares

We asked, "Who is your celebrity crush". She said,
"It's a tie between Drake and Jimmy Fallon" 

And lastly we asked Brenna, "If you could give any advice to a potential new member going through recruitment, what advice would you give her?"
"My advice to any potential new member going through recruitment is to be yourself and remember everyone you are talking to has been in your shoes. We know recruitment is a lot of fun as well as stressful, and we have been out in the sun and rain to find our future home!"

This weeks chapter spotlight goes to the lovely ladies of 
Kappa Delta
Kappa Delta here at UCF also goes by the nickname "Kay Dee". Their colors are olive green and pearl white. Their symbol is nautilus shell, dagger, teddy bear, and katydid. Their flower is a white rose and their philanthropy is Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA), and Girl Scouts of the USA. 
Pan asked Kappa Delta a few questions pertaining to their chapter that can help you get to know them a little better!

Pan asked, "What is your chapters philanthropy and what event do you hold each year to 
help your philanthropy?"
Their response:
"Kappa Delta’s philanthropies are Prevent Child Abuse America and Girl Scouts. Here at the University of Central Florida, we take pride in two of our largest philanthropy events: Kappa Delta’s Shakedown Dance Competition and Kappa Delta's Shamrock 5K. Our Shakedown Dance Competition is considered the largest Greek philanthropy on campus. Every year, we raise thousands of dollars and school supplies for Prevent Child Abuse America and have fun doing it! In the Spring, we host our annual Shamrock 5K to raise money and awareness for Prevent Child Abuse America. Our 5K gets bigger and better each year. Our philanthropy with Girl Scouts is unique because it provides Kappa Delta member’s with opportunities for face-to-face volunteering. Each year, Kappa Deltas devote over 175,000 hours to working with Girl Scouts in their communities. Popular KD Girl Scout events are self-esteem workshops, campus tours, International Girls Day celebrations and anti-bullying workshops. Our biggest Girl Scout event of the year is International Girl’s Day. This year, roughly 200 Girl Scouts attended the event at our house to enjoy face painting, Disney trivia, musical chairs, and much more! We pride ourselves in having the ability to see firsthand the difference we make in girls’ lives while learning important leadership skills in the process."

We then asked, "What is your chapters favorite part about recruitment?"
Their response:

"Coming together on the first day of Spirit Week, the week prior to recruitment, is an indescribable feeling. Being together at Kappa Delta for the first time in months feels like coming home— because it is! Many of our sisters study abroad over summer or return to their out of state homes to spend time with family. Seeing everyone for the first time since the end of Spring semester is the perfect start to the recruitment process because it makes us fall in love with KD all over again. The only thing better than being reunited with each other is hearing our Recruitment Chair read off our bid list. After two weeks of hard work, we are beyond excited to welcome home our new pledge class to begin their journey through Kappa Delta."


Pan asked Kappa Delta, "What is a unique tradition your chapter at UCF has?"
Their response:

"Some of our most heartfelt moments as Kappa Deltas happen during candle passing ceremonies. Candle passings happen after various chapter meetings and sisterhood events. It consists of forming a circle, then passing a candle to each sister. The person who has the candle can say anything on her mind— whether it be thanking a sister for her helping her through a stressful time, congratulating someone on a major accomplishment, or sharing exciting news such as getting lavaliered. Many sisters also choose to give their bigs paddles or their littles jerseys during candle passings. Yes, it can get emotional! Especially at our senior’s last candle passing when they reminisce on their unforgettable Kappa Delta experience."

    Pan asked, "What are three words you would use to describe your chapter?"
      Their response:
   "Confident, Candid, Genuine" 
  

I asked Kappa Delta, "What has been your favorite sisterhood activity?"
Their response: 
"Our favorite sisterhood activity is our annual overnight sisterhood retreat! In the past we have stayed at Melbourne Beach and Ginnie Springs. We begin the day by meeting at Kappa Delta for coffee, donuts and bagels then we head out to our destination. We must admit, we pretty much takeover the hotel! After a day in the sun, we have a huge catered dinner in the ballroom. It’s the perfect getaway and bonding experience."
      And lastly Pan asked, "What are some of your chapters biggest accomplishments?"
     Their response:

Some of our biggest achievements from this past year include receiving the highest GPA within Panhellenic and raising over $26,000 for Prevent Child Abuse America. Kappa Delta loves to support other philanthropies as well. This past year, we earned 1st place in Beta’s Best Dance Crew, 1st place overall in Kappa Sigma’s Key West Fest, 1st place in Dodge Brawl, 1st place overall in Pack to Attack Hunger, 1st Trick or Treat on Greek Street, 2nd place in Cheers for Charity, and most athletic in G.I. Theta Chi. Our sisters have also earned spots on the UCF Senate, Order of Omega Executive Board, Orientation Team, LEAD Scholars program, and the title of UCF’s Greek Goddess. Our sisters have many achievements outside of Kappa Delta as well. Between interning in New York City and studying abroad together in Italy, London, and France, our sisters are constantly striving to better themselves.
And now Pan and Kappa Delta would like to spotlight a special sister in this chapter that exemplifies the perfect example of being a well rounded Panhellenic woman. And from Kappa Delta, your chapter and Pan would like to recognize and spotlight
JENNA RICE
Jenna Rice is a senior majoring in Advertising/Public Relations and is in Kappa Delta's 2011 New Member Class. Jenna is very involved in Kappa Delta and in her community. In Kappa Delta, Jenna has held positions including Social Chair, Apparel Chair, New Member Group Leader, and Formal Chair. As Formal Chair, Jenna planned our chapter’s most exciting event of the year, White Rose Formal! Outside of Kappa Delta, Jenna has interned with Edelman Public Relations and the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce where she promoted events including Park Avenue Fashion Week. This fall, Jenna will be interning with Visit Orlando’s communications department. Jenna can’t wait to return to Kappa Delta in the Fall for her last recruitment.

Pan asked, "What is your favorite thing about being Greek?"

"The best part about being Greek is that is makes you hold yourself to a higher standard. I’m so proud to wear Kappa Delta’s letters and strive to represent my chapter in the best way possible, even when I’m not wearing them. Kappa Delta’s opening motto is, “let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest.” These values have truly become a part of me. Being Greek means being a leader and excelling academically, philanthropically, and socially. If it weren’t for Kappa Delta, I wouldn’t be as driven as I am today."

We also asked, "Why did you go Greek?"
I went Greek because most of my friends attended different universities and I wanted to meet new people. Little did I know, I would soon become a part of an overwhelming support system. Being Greek means always having someone to stand by your side through the good and the bad. I know the relationships I’ve made in Kappa Delta won’t end after college. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to go Greek.

Jenna's favorite quote is,

We asked, "Who is your celebrity crush". She said,
Ryan Gosling

And lastly we asked Jenna, "If you could give any advice to a potential new member going through recruitment, what advice would you give her?"
"Don't be afraid to show your personality! It's normal to worry about saying the wrong thing, but it's much more difficult to make a connection with a chapter if you're holding back. Each sorority wants to get to know you just as you want to get to know them (probably even more!). Plus, the conversation is so much more enjoyable when you start talking about things you're passionate about! If you find yourself having the same conversation at each house, change the subject. Most of all, be confident and be yourself."

This weeks chapter spotlight goes to the lovely ladies of 
Kappa Alpha Theta
Kappa Alpha Theta here at UCF also goes by the nickname "Theta". Their colors are black and gold. Their symbol is the kite, and twin stars. Their flower is a black and gold pansy and their philanthropy is Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Theta Foundation, and The Friendship Fund.
Pan asked Kappa Alpha Theta a few questions pertaining to their chapter that can help you get to know them a little better!

Pan asked, "What is your chapters philanthropy and what event do you hold each year to 
help your philanthropy?"
Their response:
"Our chapter's philanthropy is CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)/Guardian Ad Litem. CASA works with state and local members of their organization to help abused and neglected children find a loving home. Each CASA represents a child in court to advocate their rights for a family that fits their needs. Our chapter works with the national organization as well as Seminole County Guardian Ad Litem, which allows us to reach out to children all over the country and close to campus as well.
In the fall, we have a Superhero 5K to raise money for our local and national chapters. This draws participants from UCF and in the community. Runners (and walkers!) can dress up as their favorite superhero during the race. The motto for the event is "every child needs a hero, but abused children deserve a superhero".

We also make crafts like backpacks and pillows to give to the children in the Seminole County foster care system. We donate items like school supplies, stuffed animals and toys for the children as well. We also have several chapter members that volunteer as a CASA to represent children in the court system and to work with the organization."

We then asked, "What is your chapters favorite part about recruitment?"
Their response:
"Our favorite part about recruitment is that it gives us an uninterrupted two weeks to bond with each other and fall in love with our sisterhood all over again. There are no distractions of school or work and we can focus simply on Theta and Panhellenic. We get to be silly and wear crazy outfits during spirit week and then have more serious times to reflect on the values of Theta on Pref Night. There really is nothing like those two weeks!"
        Pan asked Kappa Alpha Theta, "What is a unique tradition your chapter at UCF has?"
Their response:
"Our chapter goes to a chocolate factory every February for a sisterhood event. Here, we make chocolate together as our own little Valentine's Day celebration! Peanut butter cups, chocolate covered strawberries, truffles, you name it. Everyone always looks forward to this event and of course, the food!"
                Pan asked, "What are three words you would use to describe your chapter?"
           Their response:

"Kind-hearted, Enthusiastic, Aspiring"
       I asked Theta, "What has been your favorite sisterhood activity?"
 Their response:
"Every semester we have a Sisterhood Retreat, where we all pile onto buses and go to a surprise location.  The past few years we have gotten the chance visit Magic Kingdom, Wet & Wild, and Aquatica.  After spending a fun-filled day with our sisters, we then load back onto the buses and head to our hotel for the night.  Here we get to bond during dinner and play games that strengthen our sisterhood.  Times like these provide us with laughs and with lasting memories!"
         And lastly Pan asked, "What makes Kappa Alpha Theta so unique?"
 Their response:
"Theta is everything you want it to be.  It is someone to meet for lunch. It is someone to go on a run with. It is someone to make spontaneous weekend trips with. It is a shoulder to cry on, and it is a warm hug on a rainy day.  Theta is your best friends and your family."
And now Pan and Kappa Alpha Theta would like to spotlight a special sister in this chapter that exemplifies the perfect example of being a well rounded Panhellenic woman. And from Kappa Alpha Theta, your chapter and Pan would like to recognize and spotlight

JAMIE COREY

Jamie is currently a junior at UCF studying Elementary Education. She is in Theta's Spring 2013 new member class and is currently serving as Kappa Alpha Thetas Human Resource Director. In this position she plans all the chapter dinners, sisterhood events, retreats, and more! She also sits on the new member committee and teaches new members about Theta's sisterhood. 

On Campus, she was apart of Gold Team (sorority recruitment for College Football!) and Student Body President’s Advisory Council (SBPAC). This past year she was the Community Outreach Specialist for SGA, where she revamped the pantry with the addition of Knightro’s Closet, a thrift store that is free for UCF students. This year, she serves on President Hitt’s President Leadership Council, where she helps host events and guests on behalf of the President.
(You go girl!)
Pan asked, "What is your favorite thing about being Greek?"

"My favorite thing about being a part of the Greek community is seeing how this special group comes together in many different ways. I never fear the first day of class because I can count on sitting next to either my own sorority sister or another Panhellenic woman. The connection of being a part of something that plays such a big role in ever Panhellenic woman’s life is an instant connection. Also, I love the support the Greek community has for each other’s philanthropy events and even UCF events."


We asked Jamie, "Why did you go Greek?"


"I attended the same school for 14 years with a graduating class of 100 and was involved in everything from cheerleading to drama club, so coming to a university that was WAY bigger than what I was used to, I needed a support group and a way of getting involved. My first semester in Theta, I was automatically greeted with the opportunity to get involved in different philanthropies and events. I never felt judged by wanting to be involved, in fact I felt like I was back at home!" 


Jamie's favorite quote is, 

“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel” -Maya Angelou
(So true, love this quote!)

We asked, "Who is your celebrity crush?"
"My celebrity crush for the past 9 years (help) would be Nick Jonas. He might have fallen off the face of the earth, but he’s still so adorable!"
(I think 99.9% of females our age can agree with you on this! Ahhhhh, so dreamy!)
And lastly Pan asked Jamie, "If you cold give a potential new member going through recruitment any advice, what would it be?"


"The advice I would give to PNM's would be to take a deep breath and relax. Everyone you are talking to during recruitment has been in your shoes, one way or another, so we understand all the worries running through your mind. Laugh it off and just be you! We want to get to know you and see if you would be a great asset to our chapter. Also, I am a big believer in fate, so you will run home to the house that you were meant to be in. That chapter saw something in you that they thought would be an amazing addition to their sisterhood."
